Due to the emergency situation we have faced a various organizational challenges and a great part of the participants have faced a difficulties and limited possibilities to attend the training.
For this reason we regretfully decided to postpone the sailing event to the upcoming months . We are looking forward to see you all as soon as possible and we will keep you updated about the date and place of the next CD Sails academy edition.

Coaches
Marco Gradoni: Three-time Optimist Class World Champion- the first sailor to ever achieve this result. Awarded as 2019 male Rolex World Sailor of the Year.
Claudio Demartis: Owner of CD Sails, founder of Olympic Sails. Sailor of many successes at a national and international level, winner of 3 world championships.
Marcello Meringolo: Optimist coach since 1998. Italian team Optimist coach for world championships.
Work program
The aim of the training is to give practical solutions of how to plan, prepare, manage and finish the regatta carrying out the maximum performance.
Some of the various elements in working program:
Theory: special attention to the problematics of the starts, planning and execution of the race strategy
Practice: improvement of the general technical level, work on the manoeuvres, simulation of starts, plan and defend your start position, race simulations, video analysis with targeted feedback , regulation and work with the sail to achieve the maximum performance, experience sharing, suggestions and support of triple Optimist world champion.

Saturday 15.05
- 12:30 gathering at Fraglia Vela Riva sailing club, boat setup, preparation
- 13:00 briefing
- 13:20 sailing session
- 17:30 closure of training
- 18:00 debriefing - video analysis with target feedback
- 19:00 pick up time
Sunday 16.05 – Monday 17.05- Tuesday 18.05
- 08:30 gathering at Fraglia Vela Riva sailing club, boat setup and preparation
- 09:00 briefing
- 09:15 sailing session
- 12:30 lunch in boat (participants have to take their lunch box. Coaches will have the water and energy bars available in the boat whenever needed)
- 16:00 closure of training
- 16:30 debriefing with video analysis and targeted feedback
- 18:00 pick up time
! In the last day 18.05 the training may be 1-2 hours shorter to ensure the sufficient rest for those who participate at 39th Lake Garda Meeting. We will monitor the participants energy, plan the last training day accordingly 😊)
!!Schedule is provisional and can be changed according to the weather conditions
Equipment
Charter boat
In case it’s needed, it will be possible to rent the charter boats in the location for additional costs .
In case you need a charter boat, please make sure you book it advance sending us the filled charter boat booking form together with the registration form.
Sail
We suggest to come with complete equipment and own boat except the sail.
It will be possible to buy the sail as the part of the training package or test it during the academy days. In this case, please make sure you book advance the CD sail you plan to buy or test.
Costs
1) Only coaching: 380.00 Eur + VAT (22 %) -> 463.60 Eur
2) Package Coaching & Sail: 550.00 Eur + VAT (22 %) -> 671.00 Eur
In the package is included CD Sail of your choice + training

To apply, please send us the documents attached below (Registration, Consent, Charter booking form if needed) to the email info@cdsails.it
After we have received the application, we will send you the confirmation and an invoice with all the payment details included. The payment can be done via standard bank transfer.
We will kindly ask to send us the payment confirmation before the first academy day.

Please note
- All boats must have a valid insurance and medical certificate.
