Coaches

Dragan Gasic: One of the most titled coaches in the Optimist class of all the times, braking many winning records with his athletes and  regularly taking the first places  on the podiums of World, European and National championships.

Pavlo Dontsov: Internationally  recognized Optimist  coach  of Ukraine team and one of the last year’s most titled sailor Sviatoslav Madonich. During the last year Pavlo team has taken the highest podiums  and victories in all the most important  international regattas.

Paolo Mariotti: One of the most known Italian coaches, has been working with many talented  world level sailors  including Adriano Quan Cardi.

Adriano Quan Cardi:   Optimist European Champion 2020

Claudio Demartis: Owner of CD Sails, founder of Olympic Sails. Sailor of many successes at a national and international level, winner of 3 world championships.

 

Work Program

The aim of the training is to give solutions of how to plan, prepare, manage and finish the regatta carrying out the maximum performance. Some of the various elements of the  program:

Theory: special attention to the problematics of the starts, planning and execution of the race strategy

Practice: improvement of the technical level, work on the manoeuvres, simulation of starts, plan and defend your start position, race simulations, video analysis with targeted feedback, regulation and work with the sail to achieve the maximum performance, experience sharing, suggestions and support of European Optimist champion.

 In one of the days  in the morning or evening -  according to meteorogical conditions

  • visit of the  sail making loft  in  Monfalcone, via consiglio d’europa 41. ‘Understand your sail’ - theoretical and practical journey of how  the Optimist sail is being made  -  starting from the project, assembly, all  the way till the final sail.  You  will see how the shape and deepness of the sail has been created  -  how and why sails are different and what it means for sailor and performance.

Equipment

Charter  boat

In case it’s needed, we can organize the possibility to rent the charter boats in the location for additional costs. In case you need a charter boat, please send us information  clearly identifying the needed equipment in  the charter booking form.

Sail

It will be possible to get  the new CD sail  as the part  of the training  package or  test it during  the academy days.  If you are choosing   the package coaching + sail,   please give us a note  about the sailors weight.

 

Costs
1) Package Coaching & Sail: 750.00 Eur + VAT (22 %) 

In the package is  included  CD Sail of your choice +  coaching

2) Only coaching: 450.00 Eur + VAT (22 %)

Trainers package:  possibility to learn and work together in the rib with academy coaches:  300.00 Eur + VAT(22 %)                                                                 

The places are limited-  max  8 places available.

After we have received  the application, we will send you  the confirmation and an invoice with all the payment details included. The payment can be done  via  standard bank transfer.

The payment confirmation  must be sent before the first academy day.

- All boats must have a valid insurance and medical  certificate.

- The participants have to  organize the  accommodation and lunch box independently.

If you decide to participate  in the Optimist  Gold Cup right after the training, you can check the   accommodation  in the   ‘Nuovo Hotel Operai’  and   ‘Sam Hotel’  that offers conventioned prices   for Yacht Club  Monfalcone and regatta Optimist  Gold Cup.
